Description
The Sengwer capacity to defend their rights was significantly eroded by decades of harassment and attempted evictions by the Kenya Forest Service (KFS). The Sengwer then registered a civil society organisation – the Sengwer Indigenous Peoples Programme (SIPP) – which built on the work of a handful of community leaders and elders.
